Deuteronomy 6:14.

For Supreme Court justices that passage would/should not necessarily apply.

When they don their robes their new god is the constitution, period. They can believe whatever they want. But they must put it totally aside when cases are before them.
In the case of Barrett it would totally be appropriate for senators to make her state that unconditionally. I say this because of Barrett's religious fundamentalist activism. I don't know why the GOP think she should be above this scrutinization. It would seem like a very basic thing we would expect from a justice.

That's just plain stupid. But, what can we expect from a bunch of commies who hate  God.

Expecting a justice to follow the constitution is communism. ?

You want catholic doctrine to rule the country ?

I knew you were a little wacked, but I never made you out as a theocrat.

No. But I could make a damn good argument that the majority of judges have not been following the Constitution. As a matter of fact, the only one that has been and has been consistent is Judge Thomas.

Hell, no. But, if you remember, that was the worry with JFK, that he would rule with the Vatican, which he didn't. Having a religious belief does not disqualify a person.

I'm not, but the tenents of of our justice system are heavily based on the 10 commandments. I find no fault in that.
Having a religious belief does not disqualify a person. An overwhelming majority of public officials do, or so they say.

Yup.
