Second languages are good. Might be good for our fat and lazy society It's amazing that the US is the least bilingual country in the Western world.  Employability increases if you know a second language. And it is very good stimulus for the brain.

I would start with Spanish.

Spanish ain't gonna do you no good when the slanty-eyed ones take over.

Spanish is easier and more prevalent here. However given that China represents the largest potential consumer of US goods and services, it is in our national interest to learn the language. No doubt Chinese traders can speak English.
