More Texas being just being Texas - j.p. - 02-20-2021 In addition to their legendary "skills" for driving in anything resembling snow. What caused the Texas disaster? Decades of Republican deregulation: "Laissez-faire run amok" | Salon.com Quote:The massive energy failure that brought Texas to a halt in the middle of a record-setting winter snap this week was not an unavoidable natural disaster. It has roots in decades of deregulation driven by conservative elected officials that prized the state's rogue mythology and short-term gains over long-term catastrophic risk. RE: More Texas being just being Texas - k.d. - 02-20-2021 And how does this account for Iowa? RE: More Texas being just being Texas - j.p. - 02-20-2021 Iowa has no power outages RE: More Texas being just being Texas - k.d. - 02-20-2021 https://www.kaaltv.com/iowa-news/north-iowa-power-outages-february/6014622/ Or how about the derechos this summer https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/14/us/iowa-storms-recovery-emergency-declaration/index.html Would you be prepared to drive in a hurricane? Californians can't drive in rain. Why would anyone expect Texans to be good drivers in snow? You are just being a prick again. Not that I have any problem with doing that, but I'm not purposely doing it on this thread, yet. Are you a Texan ? I didn't make the jokes up about the driving, never been there. But next time you see a 50 car pile up on TV or the internet, hopefully with no major casualties, it's either in Texas or their retarded little brother Oklahoma. As far as Iowa, I've been there many, many times. The outages are normal under the circumstances and fixed immediately. No whining. No blaming others. No blaming AOC and no blaming mythical laws. There is probably an outage somewhere in your town RE: More Texas being just being Texas - k.d. - 02-21-2021 https://www.nbc26.com/news/local-news/major-accident-on-interstate-41-in-winnebago-county https://www.accuweather.com/en/winter-weather/highway-shut-down-after-major-pileup-caused-by-minimal-amount-of-snow/642427 https://weather.com/series/human-nature/video/traffic-cam-captures-massive-pileup-in-green-bay-wisconsin The point is, this can happen anywhere. You can't single out Texas unless you're trying to be an asshole. How often do hear of Texans driving onto half-frozen lakes and nearly drowning and need their submerged vehicle pulled out? Accidents happen during treacherous weather conditions, even if you are familiar with those seasonal happenings. And I do consider myself part Texan. It's a major news story with major hand wringing. And with a clown show ! https://www.huffpost.com/entry/ted-cruz-cancun-texas_n_602e7d8bc5b66dfc101ccef3 And with a flair of international espionage https://www.bitchute.com/video/NvfVzwRIcK46/ RE: More Texas being just being Texas - k.d. - 02-21-2021 That's because everything is bigger in Texas. |
