Who else would you blame? The Swiss?

Every year we get these damn viruses coming from China because of their lousy hygiene and unsafe food handling and eating fricking bat soup and other crap. No, the blame lays squarely on China. Keep the Orientals with the Orientals and the Occidentals with the Occidentals.

If it's "every year" as you say. Why are we just now having a problem ?
We need to stop blaming others for our problems. We could start a "forever thread" on blame.

If you look at the medical numbers and forget the hysteria and panic, there is no problem. 200+ deaths in a population of 220 million+ for the wuhan flu but 20,000 deaths caused by the regular flu.Worldwide 330,000 cases out of a population of 7.7 billion. It's a joke.

A joke ? I'm not laughing. Static numbers mean nothing. There are indications that the show might not have even started. We don't know anything. Cases doubling overnight is concerning.

The financial/economic impact is gonna be worse (thanks to stupid government actions) than the wuhan flu. I wouldn't go out driving around if you are that concerned - 4,000 death a month on the roads.

We can and do moderate are behaviors for known perils. We also take preventative measures based on known data. If we had a reasonable expectation that road deaths will jump to 8,000 tomorrow and 16,000 the next day and so on, would it just be a joke ?
I like your optimism. But I'm a little surprised at your illogical attempts at analogy. Comparing a known to an unknown is something that can't be done.

What we know currently is that the common flu is more deadly than corona. Hows that for known data?
