If the American evangelicals had there way we would be practicing those biblical methods and teachings as well. We allow corporal punishment as well.
There is no rationalization for a state killing or maiming someone regardless of the method..
I don't think it should be done unless certain conditions are met, including 2 eye-witnesses to a murder. Libertarians argue against it for economic and moral reasons. I would have been all for it for that nut that killed all those people at that concert in Las Vegas.
Also I would be for it in cases of war crimes. George HW Bush and Bubba being executed for their war crimes may have prevented George W., Obama, and Trump continuing their crime sprees.

My initial response to heinous crimes is to have my government inflict a torturous slow death on the perps, guilty or not. When my sense of decency and humanity returns, I realize that the criminality of all state sponsored killings.
The "squad" is much, much bigger than those brown women. Yet the focus is on those four Trumpian ladies. Wonder why ?
