2020: Year of the Black GOP Renaissance, Thanks to Trump

...

Quote:Hopefully, the mainstream media will report on these candidates as fairly and respectfully as they did the candidates who became known as “The Squad,” making them household names as well.
Why not tell a different narrative, show there are Black Americans who think for themselves, care about their communities and are proud Republicans?
The following Black candidates are standing up for their values, standing up for their families, and deserve to be heard and not silenced or canceled because they are not running as radical liberals: Tamika Hamilton, Ronda Baldwin-Kennedy, Errol Webber, Aja Smith, and Joe Collins in California; Casper Stockham in Colorado; Byron Donalds, Carla Spalding, Vennia Francois, and Lavern Spicer in Florida; Angela Stanton-King in Georgia; Philanise White and Craig Cameron in Illinois; Rayla Campbell in Massachusetts; Kimberly Klacik in Maryland; John James in Michigan; Kendall Qualls and Lacy Johnson in Minnesota; Billy Prempeh in New Jersey; Laverne Gore in Ohio; Kathy Barnette in Pennsylvania; Charlotte Bergmann in Tennessee; Wesley Hunt, Wendell Champion, and Tre Pennie in Texas; Burgess Owens in Utah; and Leon Benjamin in Virginia.

  What Killed Michael Brown
Posted by: k.d. - 10-18-2020, 03:36 PM - Forum: The Nation - No Replies

A movie I've got to see.
https://whatkilledmichaelbrown.com/watchfilm

Amazon’s Attempt To Muzzle Shelby Steele Says Volumes About Race In America – Wirepoints

It’s tempting to dismiss this as just another instance of media censoring views it doesn’t like, but it’s about far more. It’s about the entire “conversation” we supposedly are having on race in America, and why it’s no conversation at all.

“What Killed Michael Brown?” is a new documentary written by impeccably credentialed Shelby Steele, who has long been among the most prominent voices challenging orthodox thinking on race.

The film isn’t another look at the facts surrounding the shooting of a black man, Michael Brown, by a white cop in Ferguson, Missouri in 2014. That shooting sparked riots and gave life to the entire Black Lives Matter movement as well as the “hands up, don’t shoot” meme.

Instead, Steele uses the event as an example through which his broader views are presented, updated to address America’s meltdown on racial issues over the past year. The “poetic truth” that the establishment likes to push, as Steele put it, is that Brown was executed. He wasn’t executed, making the shooting a metaphor for many other faulty “poetic truths” Steele challenges.

Since Steele himself is black and gifted with unusual clarity in thought and words, the cancel culture’s reaction should be no surprise.

Amazon, where the plan was to stream the film, abruptly cancelled, sending only a smug email saying this:

Unfortunately, we have found that your film doesn’t meet Prime Video’s content quality expectations and is not eligible for publishing at this time. We will not be accepting resubmission of this title and this decision may not be appealed.

Consider the irony in that. Amazon got its start as a book seller. Having achieved near monopoly power, it’s now a book burner.

Amazon also reportedly has contributed millions to Black Lives Matter.

But credit Amazon for knowing what to squelch because the movie undoubtedly would succeed in opening many of the minds Amazon would like kept closed.

It’s superb.

It traces Steele’s personal story. Born in Chicago, he grew up in south suburban Harvey. His parents met while working in the early civil rights movement. He worked initially in St. Louis as what he calls a “warrior hero” in President Johnson’s War on Poverty, much of which was misguided as he now sees things. Robert Woodson also appears in the film. Like Steele, he spent his younger years administering 1960s-style welfare programs and is now a leading critic thereof.

The culture fostered by those programs eventually migrated to suburbs like Ferguson, says Steele in the film, and it’s that culture that killed Michael Brown.

As for the facts surrounding the Brown shooting, the film lays out what many Americans probably still don’t know, which is those facts are not subject to dispute. The police officer acted in self-defense according to multiple eye witnesses. A grand jury therefore declined to indict the officer. The FBI, under Attorney General Eric Holder’s Justice Department, found no wrongdoing in the shooting.

But Holder proceeded nevertheless to inflate the controversy by accusing the city of other forms of racism, ultimately hurting the entire community. “Holder made Ferguson pay the price for a racist murder that was neither racist nor a murder,” says Steele.
Ex-Black Disciple gang leader, Varney Voker (L), and Pastor Corey Brooks ® discuss their work in South Side Chicago.

The film, produced by Steele’s son, Eli, brings his father’s views to life. It includes segments with Chicago’s Corey Brooks, a pastor on the Southside along with a reformed drug dealer now helping Brooks.

“I wonder what would have happened if Michael Brown had the good fortune to meet Pastor Brooks,” says Steele in the film.

All Chicago should be wondering that.

All America should be wondering that.

They aren’t, thanks to a culture that cancels and punishes such thoughts. Amazon is hardly alone. A day hardly passes now without a story from a workplace or school were somebody is flogged for daring to voice a contradiction with the prevailing view that white supremacists lurk everywhere, racism is systemic and we’re all biased but too dumb to know it.

Ferguson provided Steele with an illustration of what he thinks is wrong about America’s approach to race; Amazon has now provided him with an illustration of how views like his get silenced.

Don’t let Amazon or anybody else deter you from seeing the film. Alternate ways to view it are provided here.

  Biden Connection
Posted by: k.d. - 10-18-2020, 03:20 PM - Forum: World View - No Replies

The moment the New York Post reported on some of the sleazy, corrupt details contained on Hunter Biden’s hard drive, Twitter and Facebook, the social media giants most closely connected to the way Americans exchange political information, went into overdrive to suppress the information and protect Joe Biden. In the case of Facebook, though, perhaps one of those protectors was, in fact, protecting herself.
The person currently in charge of Facebook’s election integrity program is Anna Makanju. That name probably doesn’t mean a lot to you, but it should mean a lot – and in a comforting way -- to Joe Biden.
Before ending up at Facebook, Makanju was a nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council. The Atlantic Council is an ostensibly non-partisan think tank that deals with international affairs. In fact, it’s a decidedly partisan organization.

Makanju also worked at the Atlantic Council. The following is the relevant part of Makanju’s professional bio from her page at the Atlantic Council (emphasis mine):

Quote:Anna Makanju is a nonresident senior fellow with the Transatlantic Security Initiative. She is a public policy and legal expert working at Facebook, where she leads efforts to ensure election integrity on the platform. Previously, she was the special policy adviser for Europe and Eurasia to former US Vice President Joe Biden, senior policy adviser to Ambassador Samantha Power at the United States Mission to the United Nations, director for Russia at the National Security Council, and the chief of staff for European and NATO Policy in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. She has also taught at the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University and worked as a consultant to a leading company focused on space technologies.
Makanju was a player in the faux Ukraine impeachment. Early in December 2019, when the Democrats were gearing up for the impeachment, Glenn Kessler mentioned her in an article assuring Washington Post readers that, contrary to the Trump administration’s claims, there was nothing corrupt about Biden’s dealings with Ukraine. He made the point then that Biden now raises as a defense: Biden didn’t pressure Ukraine to fire prosecutor Viktor Shokin to protect Burisma; he did it because Shokin wasn’t doing his job when it came to investigating corruption.

Kessler writes that, on the same day in February 2016 that then-Ukrainian President Poroshenko announced that Shokin had offered his resignation, Biden spoke to both Poroshenko and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. The White House version is that Biden gave both men pep talks about reforming the government and fighting corruption. And that’s where Makanju comes in:
Quote:Anna Makanju, Biden’s senior policy adviser for Ukraine at the time, also listened to the calls and said release of the transcripts would only strengthen Biden’s case that he acted properly. She helped Biden prepare for the conversations and said they operated at a high level, with Biden using language such as Poroshenko’s government being “nation builders for a transformation of Ukraine.”
A reference to a private company such as Burisma would be “too fine a level of granularity” for a call between Biden and the president of another country, Makanju told The Fact Checker. Instead, she said, the conversation focused on reforms demanded by the International Monetary Fund, methods to tackle corruption and military assistance. An investigation of “Burisma was just not significant enough” to mention, she said.
Let me remind you, in case you forgot, that Burisma started paying the Atlantic Council a lot of money in 2016, right when Makanju was advising Biden regarding getting rid of Shokin.
In other words, there’s a really good chance that Sundance was correct when he wrote at The Conservative Treehouse:
Quote:That’s right folks, the Facebook executive currently blocking all of the negative evidence of Hunter and Joe Biden’s corrupt activity in Ukraine is the same person who was coordinating the corrupt activity between the Biden family payoffs and Ukraine.
You just cannot make this stuff up folks.

  Laptop Emails
Posted by: k.d. - 10-18-2020, 11:37 AM - Forum: Local Chatter - Replies (6)

I, personally, have a laptop. My wife has a laptop. My kids, sorry, adult children, have laptops. All of our laptops have emails on them. Yet, here we have a childish poster who denies that Hunter Biden may have had emails on his laptop computers. Doesn't seem possible to me.

Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson (R-WI) has fired off a Saturday letter to FBI Director Chris Wray demanding answers over the agency's handling of Hunter Biden's laptop.

According to the letter, after Johnson released his a report on Hunter Biden's activities abroad which raised "counterintelligence and extortion concerns," Johnson's committee was contacted by a whistleblower - ostensibly Delaware computer shop owner John Paul Mac Issac - who "informed my staff that he had possession of a laptop left in his business by Hunter Biden."
Issac told Johnson that "he provided its contents to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in response to a December 9, 2019 grand jury subpoena," to which the FBI responded that they "would not confirm or deny any information identified by the committee." In other words, Wray's FBI stonewalled when confronted with direct questions by the Senate Homeland Security Committee.
To review the timeline - according to an associate of Issac, Hunter Biden left three laptops at the repair shop on April 12, 2019. In September of 2019, after Hunter failed to respond to come pick them up, Issac walked into the FBI office in Albuquerque, New Mexico and spoke with an agent.
Two months later, while Democrats were holding Trump-Ukraine impeachment hearings, two FBI agents from the Wilmington, DE office, Joshua Williams and Mike Dzielak, paid Issac a visit. He offered them one of Biden's hard drives, which they declined to take with them. Two weeks later, they came back with a subpoena for the drive.

  Hunter Becomes the Hunted

Hunter Becomes the Hunted
By Clarice Feldman
The wonderful cartoonist Michael Ramirez has Hunter Biden  disguised as a deer with the caption “From Hunter to Hunted.” Hunter in costume says, “Here, Dad, Camouflage. I got this in China.” In his usual pithy style Ramirez evokes the scandal of Hunter’s using his dad’s position as vice-president to rake in substantial bribes for access for the Chinese.
China was not alone in lining the Biden family’s pockets with millions of dollars.  So did corrupt officials of Ukraine and more particularly the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. And the Hunter peculation continued with a tribal bond scheme that landed one of his partners in jail, a partner whose emails to and from Hunter are now in the hands of those determined to unmask the Bidens’ misdeeds -- and the FBI’s hiding and failing to act on them.
There is no question that the FBI had access to the same material and seems to have done nothing with it. Nor did the Special Counsel.

Quote:...the U.S. federal government had every reason to know that associates of Hunter Biden, who himself had obtained a lucrative deal with a Ukrainian gas company, were being prosecuted for a massive fraud scheme -- with one participant, Devon Archer, identified in both activities -- at the same time the U.S. federal government was probing the partly contemporaneous dealings of Paul Manafort and Rick Gates in Ukraine with an electric cattle prod.
The latter probe was explicitly linked by the Mueller team to the U.S. 2016 election -- although the actual Manafort and Gates activities taken to court were all from before 2015. No connection with the U.S. 2016 election was ever established.
The links from the tribal bonds participants, in particular Devon Archer’s, to Hunter Biden would have been of greater potential significance to the 2016 election, given the numerous connections during the election campaign among story elements relevant to the Biden-Ukraine narrative.  Those elements include the Democratic Party, Ukraine, scurrilous gossip about candidate Trump, the U.S. embassy in Ukraine, the State Department’s USAID, and U.S. funds in Ukraine overseen by Vice President Joe Biden, as well as the connection with a major donor to the Democratic Party and prominent partner of USAID in Ukraine, George Soros.
The timeframe of chargeable activities in the tribal bonds case, March 2014 through April 2016, was almost exactly contemporaneous with Hunter Biden’s and Devon Archer’s involvement with Burisma, and eventually Joe Biden’s chat with Petro Poroshenko.
For the most part, except for the New York Post and Fox, the scandal has been kept under a lid by the press, Twitter, and Facebook. The [Image: 224206_5_.png]Washington Post, NBC,  and The Hill seem to be leading the defense with another cockamamie claim that this is just Russian disinformation. As in the boy who cried wolf, only the terminally moronic will fall for this manufactured alarm. It was promulgated by the Washington Post’s  Ellen Nakashima and NBC’s Ken Dilanian (the consistent  Russian collusion banner wavers), and repeated by The Hill’s Coleman (a newbie with no experience in such matters) and lacks any substantiated evidentiary base.
The now-discredited partisan Committee on Presidential Debates selected pro-Biden moderators along with gotcha nonsense as topics for the non-debate debates. Townhalls hosted by media giants continued a  pattern with partisan questioners whose backgrounds were hidden from the audience, something that because of its consistency cannot be passed off as negligence.
Quote:One of the questioners at the ABC-hosted event was Nathan Osburn, a former speechwriter for the Obama White House. Osburn specifically worked for the Office of Public Affairs at the Commerce Department under the Obama-Biden administration and at the Small Business Administration.
Osburn's profession was listed as "communications" on the ABC town hall graphic and his city was listed as Philadelphia, Pa. He was quoted in the Philadelphia Inquirer earlier this year as "a former Obama administration speechwriter" who had created a "Philly for Pete group" aimed at boosting former Democratic presidential primary candidate Pete Buttigieg.
Another questioner at the town hall was Mieke Haeck, who ABC presented as a physical therapist from State College, Pa. She is also the wife of Ezra Nanes, a high-profile Democrat in Pennsylvania who in 2018 ran a campaign challenging Republican state Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman. Nanes is currently an at-large member of the Centre County Democratic Committee. Centre County is the county in which State College resides.
Media and tech platforms' thumbs on the scale for a clearly weak and disoriented Biden continue to unravel. The high-handed censorship by the tech giants under the dubious assertion that the revelations were the result of hacking are being undone due to lack of evidence, public fury, congressional hearing oversight, and FCC warnings of election interference. (The authenticity of the stuff on the Hunter computer, lawfully in the possession of the repair shop, is not in question. Hunter’s lawyer demanded the computer’s return, thus establishing the provenance of the hard drive material.) The treasure trove of evidence against the Biden family’s corruption will be released steadily for the next couple of weeks leading to the November 3 election.
In the meantime, on October 22 I have no doubt that the charming and estimable nominee for the Supreme Court, Amy Coney Barrett, will be confirmed and sworn in in time to participate in any election disputes. That the Democrats fear this is obvious from their latest gizmo in their bag of tricks -- voting for statehood for Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico so that when they move to pack the court with nominees more to their taste they will be able to get Senate approval of the nominees.
So, here’s the prospect which faces us if the Democrats win: mindboggling  official corruption ignored by the FBI and scorched earth to undo the balance the framers of the Constitution knew were essential to hold the Republic together by assuring rural and urban voters were all given voice and elected representatives write the laws, not unelected Supreme Court justices.

Finally. The.New.Goad. His article is entitled:
A Nation Cannot Live on Basketball & Rape Alone

Here is the first little bit of it.

Quote:As someone who is both obsessed with race and filled with hatred, I am often accused of being filled with racial hatred.
For reasons that have nothing to do with trying to absolve myself in the eyes of people naive enough to think that “racism” not only exists but is both evil and ubiquitous, I’ll attempt to explain why such an accusation is imbecilic.
It’s true that I hate black people, but not for being black — it’s because they’re people.
